CBR 600 F2 Backfiring Problem
Ok guys,
So it seems like every time I fix something on this bike, another thing goes wrong. Yesterday I sorted out the Vacuum Leak problem by attaching vacuum plugs. Now my bike starts backfiring at idle. Super loud too and doesn't sound good at all. Almost feels like the pistons are "knocking". On my service manual, I made sure I plugged the right ones too. Gosh... what's wrong now? Oh and by the way, if anyone has a F2 seat for sale let me know please. REALLY needing a seat badly. It hurts riding without one :0 Low on budget for this project so please be reasonable Thanks again

I think I'm going to pull my plugs out tomorrow to see if they are fouled. As for the seat, how beat up is it? Not being too picky and all, just want to know. Thanks

This doesn't sound like a plug issue...
Usually the back pressures will be caused by only changing out the exhaust and only doing a slip on and not the entire system. If you change the full system you will re-jet it and it balances it back out but all older bikes with slip-ons do it...
I don't know your whole story but your plugs misfiring would sound puttering or choppy not popping..

You are right, my bike doesn't have a muffler on it. I= sometimes put it on, but it's not on there securely. I just placed the muffler over the pipe to reduce the noise when fixing my bike. It leaks like crazy. I never have problems with backfires with no muffler. I think the previous owner set the carbs to run with no back pressure/no exhaust.
