Default Popping/backfiring?

So the past couple of times that I have been out riding, whenever I really accelerate the bike makes this popping/backfiring noise. I cant tell if its coming from the exhaust or if it could be that the carbs are dirty.I don’t know if it could mean that I need to replace the chain/sprocket. Im not sure what it is, it kinda hard to tell where the noise comes from and how to describe it, but all I know is that it only does it when I really try and accelerate hard.
Any idea’s?

does the popping happen before, during, or after you accelerate?

it happens during the acceleration, i can be crusing along in 3rd gear and go to pass someone and when i start to really give it some throttle is pops until i slow back down, it almost feels like its jerking the bike also. It happens in all gears, i guess next time i can try and see what rpm's im at when it happens.

Mine was doing something similar early on this season. Once warmed up it would hesitate under hard acceleration. I put new plugs in and it runs mint now.

yeah i think i will go ahead and replace the spark plugs, from what ive seen around the symptoms i described go along with bad spark plugs, so hopefully new plugs will clear up the problem

I checked all the easy, obvious things also. I blew out the connections and coils with low pressure compressed air and applied di-electric grease to everything also. The air filter, airbox and carbs looked good. I ran some Sea foam through it just to be sure and used a tank or two of 94 octane. Oil and filter and it's sound as a pound. I think this winter I will do the valve adjust because the mileage is getting up there and I'm not 100% sure when it was last done.
