I was able to find a new motor for my 99 600F4 but then it is from an 01 F4i. Does anyone know if the engine form the F4i will fit into the F4? Or should I just stick to getting the stock motor that belongs in there? Thanks.

 

The frames are the same - the electrics are different (FI etc)

If you get a complete donor... then it's do-able. If you go that route you'll have to deal with the gauge cluster differences.

I would personally stay with the F4 engine... unless you have all the parts and skills to do a lot of the work yourself.

 

I don't have the skills or parts lol. Just found a deal on the engine for 500smakers.

 

if the motors are the same, why can u use the head and the block from the f4i, and just transfer everything from your carburated one. I mean worst come to worst you can probably just swap the heads over

 

I would love to do the FI swap on my F4, but like was said it's not that easy. I would only do it if I had a complete F4i bike with all the parts I need.

You might do better just getting a F4 engine.
