Well,

I thank everyone for their help on getting my bike up and running and looking good. But after Wednesday night, it looks worse than ever.

I was going around a turn and the back tire went out on me. Must have been some gravel. The witness (who is an experienced bike rider) said my tire might as well have hit ice because that is what it looked like.

Anyway... after a stint in the E.R. and some soreness I now turn my atttention to the bike.

-Front forks bent
-Transmission wont let the rear wheel turn free
-Busted left side uper fairing
-both mirrors gone
-seat nicked
-left rear fairing is shards

I didn't have full coverage (was in the middle of adding it to backdate and start for the month of june, missed it by 2 days) So... should I part out, or cut my losses and look for another one?

Thoughts?

Hey, good you're ok. Gravel is something I'm nervous about. Ouch.

The big thing will be why the rear wheel won't turn. In neutral, it won't turn at all? Since it sounds like you went down on the left, it could be something minor. Like the clutch. If its the clutch is messed up, you can get her going. But if its in the tranny it'll likely be serious enough not to make it worth it.

 

if ur rear is junk i need 2 of the mounting nipples if they arent busted

If I am doing a new tail will i be eliminating the nipples? If so you can have mine. Dont even know what they look like lol. Almost done with my front end didn't fit at all. had to CUSTOM everything even a plate at the bottom left fairing to mount in the correct position. Wish I would have know fiberglass < plastic >< thought I researched this enough. Guess not

 

The nipples hold the side tail fairing on the bike. They are moulded into the sides and fit into the rubber grommets

 

Well, as soon as I get healed enough I am going to start really getting into it to discover what is going on. At this point instead of nickel and diming myself to death, I a mwondering if it is just better to Part her out, or sell her outright to a salvage company and get a new bike with warranty so all I have is the set monthly payment with warranty.

But If I part her out, Everyone let me know what you will need. I would like to get some of the 2700 back I sunk into her 3 MONTHS AGO!!!!

and what nipples are you talking about?
