Wrecked!
Well I had a little assident today and wrecked my shiat. Wasn't too bad, layed it down comin around a left hander ~20-30. Cracked the crank case (of course), and bent the shift lever, so not too much damage. A little scratchd up and a sore ankle, but otherwise I'm all good, hence why I always wear my gear. Smacked my head on the ground pretty hard and I have to say that was a bit surreal but I wanted a new Suomy anyways!
Anyways just a quick question before I ship her off to a shop, I went to shift it into neutral and for some reason the indicator wont go into Neutral on the dash, I haven't messed with it too much yet, but is this something normal? or am I gonna find out all sorts of bad news when I take a good look over it with a mechanic?

I dunno. I laid mine down a week or so ago, and when I picked it up off the ground it wouldn't start. Silly me, it wasn't in neutral. Got my **** together and it fired up. Maybe you bent or dissconected some sensor on your shift lever or something and your bike won't pick up what gear it is in????? Glad to hear your OK, but new gear and mods are always cool. Bones heal and chicks dig scars.
sorry about your wreck. About your question, when i wrecked, one of the gauge plugs came undone on the back of the cluster, and it wouldnt show my speed or neutral light...that might be it, or the led cracked and wont show up now...i dunno bro...heal up and get back on the horse
That's sucks but at least your o.k. As far as your shift light indicator I think the sensor is on the left side of the bike so it might have beeen damaged when you cracked the case cover? Or the engine case? Just add it to the total.[:@]
everything is all good, got and installed the new alternator cover yesterday, just need to filler up with oil, and replace the shift lever and control arm and I'm back in action. I was thinking of replacing the plastics, but I don't really care and its not too bad so wrecks always bring up good stories. Downtime on the bike is only gonna be like 4 days and not even $150. That helps when you do all the repairs on your own of course, I dont know what they would have raped me for at a shop.
This is my arm as of this morning so it's not bad at all, the whole left side of my body is pretty sore but that's expected. I'll be out snowboarding this weekend and hopefully riding the following week!
