Wiring Questions
I have a manual with the schematic, but I'm having problems identifying the wires for my '97 F3.
I'm replacing my stock license light with a LED. There are two wires for the license light, one is green and the other brown. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but which is positive and which is negative/neutral?
I'm also replacing my front turn signals. As the LED signals that I have are two wire, but there are three for the harness... which is which? Example being the right turn signal - I have light blue with white, green and light blue.
With my limited electrical knowledge... is the green the negative/neutral, typically a black wire?
Thanks for your help,
Stalk

In looking at the wiring diagram for the F3 tail light, the green wire is ground. The rear turn signals use green as ground too.
The front turn signals have 3 wires because you have a parking light as well as a turn signal. The bulbs have 2 filiments. The ground is common between the 2 filiments. For a 2 wire configuration you'll need a relay that is triggered by the turn signal signal (no, I'm not studdering). I'm certain that kits are available for converting 3 wire to 2 wire. I believe some of the members have done it themselves with relays purchased at Radio Shack. It's a fairly simple circuit to hook up.

Here's one good write-up that I found for anyone else looking.
