I have the Clymer manual for my bike, and it has the wiring diagrams in the back. They are very useful, but how do I know what color wire is performing which function? For instance, if I have a 3-pin connector with a white, black, and green wire, how do I know which color is providing the power, which one is the ground, and which one is the illumination, etc...?

 

in my wiring diagram for my 600rr, the wires are all labeled by color. i'd be willing to bet that green is ground, but don't hold me to it. you could get a test light and touch green to the positive and negative post on your battery and see when it lights up, etc.
