Turn signal issue

Turn signal issue
well we got a real hard rain today, and after i got home i noticed my turn signals stopped working properly, just about as i am pulling up my driveway. i can hear the control box clicking as if the signal was on but its faster than normal and the lights do not come on and the gauge lights dont either. also when i press the cancel button it does nothing. I already checked the fuse and its good. im not sure if it just needs to dry out a bit or if something broke. any ideas?

Don't assume the rain and the mal-function are related. The rain could just be exasperating an existing condition, better to use a blank-slate approach.
Run the basics, check the connectors (i.e. don't just wiggle, completely dis-connect, inspect, spray with contact-cleaner, re-connect), look for frayed, kinked or worn wire points.
Usually, if the relay is 'clicking' faster than usual, it's missing part of it's load (a bulb element). So also check the fuses and bulbs (i.e. check for continuity and replace any suspect components). Very seldom is the relay itself actually at fault.
Finally, check the turn-signal switches for continuity and operation. That should see ya thru to the start of a resolution.
Hope this helps, Ern

thx for the info, i have already removed and check connectors, as well as testing the bulbs in the housings. i checked all the bulbs in the gauges too. everything has been checking out as good. i took apart the controls and there is a bunch of water in side, so my thought is that the water is the water could be completing the circuit and causing the relay to actuate. im gonna leave it open to air dry all night and tomorrow ill get some cleaner and grease, reassemble it and see it that fixes the problem.
