I guess what I meant was the carbs. I am so used to fuel injected cars with throttle assemblies and linkage, sorry...this is a whole new world to me. All I could see was that the cables go into a black hole in the middle of the carbs, and there was what appeared to be some linkage down in that dark black hole, but I've never removed carbs from a bike before, so I'm not really sure what's in there.

I wanted to get in there so I could actuate it by hand and see if it returned without the cables connected, but apparently the carbs have to come off for that. I'm thinking I may as well suck it up and remove them tomorrow so I can determine once and for all what's causing this. If it is indeed the cables, I think I will just replace them.

New cables are $16 each. Ordered 'em. No point messing around with the old ones if new ones are that cheap.

I figured out the problem - the clip on was bent. Guess I didn't need those cables after all...whoops.

Damn, never even crossed my mind.

Glad you figured it out. And now you have nice new throttle cables!

Haha, that's what I told myself too. I may have wasted $30, but since I've got 'em, I might as well put 'em on.
