Exclamation slow return to idle once i let off throttle

hey guys just wondering what would cause my rpm's to hover a bit before returning to idle speed it seems like it hovers around 3000 for a second then slowly returns to 1000 when i let off the throttle its not a fast drop in rpm's at all but only does it sometimes ....idk

is your throttle returning back with a good snap? not hanging up or anything?

Otherwise, you're describing a possible lean situation where the engine's holding a few extra RPM transitioning back to the primary jets. Might just need to run a few Seafoam/fuel treatments thru it and see if it cleans up.

got intake/exhaust done without a rejetting, might be the culprit.

just put some seafoam in the fuel like five min. ago i was thinking the same thing going to ride it for a couple days and see if that cleans it up i did just put a can on it yesterday but didnt change the headers so i shouldnt need to rejet but i do have a jet kit i got with the bike so i might do that this weekend the throttle is pretty slow to return doesnt snap back but even when i do it manually it still hovers a bit .....just seems to be a little slow to return to idle it drops fast from 7000 to 3000 but slows lower than 3000 almost hangs at 3 for a split second

3grand is just about the transition point onto the pilot jets for idling. My bike is a bit rich while idling, and at about 3000-3500 is where it cleans up.
