Speedemon636 is right. I learned by taking them apart too. Take notes, make drawings, get photos as you go. It will make the return trip much easier.

+1 Make record of all your work. When you don't, that's when you can get into trouble.

Go for it, Its the only way to learn. You learn a thing looking at the outside of your engine other thn what colour it is. Take notes and store parts together labeled up so you know what they are. And as others sugest photos are a must. Enjoy the learning experience.

I found that regular masking tape is perfect for that. Just get a pin, write what the part is, then tape it to the part!

For sure, take it apart and like they said, record where everything went or take pics. Its fun.
