Haven't had too much to report for the last couple of weeks. Lack of money & time put paid to messing with the CBR. I've also been having problems with my Triumph, so have had to spend time on that instead.
Anyhow. Quick update. The sidestand switch wasn't working, so the bike kept stalling when trying to put it into gear, so have fitted my spare switch (FI light works too )
I have made the brackets & adapted the Suzuki bellypan, which looks quite good I think. Have fitted the switchgear & dry fitted everything, it looks quite good, so have to strip it & get it off to paint, probably next month now as I'm broke lol.

 

Well I took the CBR for an MOT (roadworthyness test) & she passed
The examiner did say that he had standards & that the CBR was at the bottom of them (good job I know him, or I might have been offended), but she is fit for the road.
It always seems to be the little things that take the longest, but I had my 1st proper ride on her yesterday, only to the test station as I have to get her insured & taxed, but she felt quite good. The brakes need bedding in & the carbs want balancing, but, all in all, not too bad.
I still need to have her painted, but that will have to wait. I'm off to the Isle of Man next week to watch the Southern 100 races, so money is a wee bit tight.

Bikes looking good... Nice to see something a bit different, keep up the good work. I noticed your gauges read 00001 on the mileage how did you do that???? Or did you buy them like it.

Very well done! I'm thinking about putting the 600rr tail on my f3 soon. About how long did it take to mount and all?

 

I bought them like that, I was quite surprised when I wired them up & it read 0 miles. My MOT says 2 miles, not bad for a 1996 machine
Other than cutting the subframe & welding a bracket by the battery box, it went on quite easily. I did make the undertray from aluminium, so that it was easier to work with than steel. i also made a couple of little brackets to attach the front of the infils.

if im not mistaken, there is a program that you can get for your PC that with reset the gauges, take the mileage down to zero, and then "run" the gauges for X amount of time to get the correct mileage.

 

from what ive seen, it was only to emulate 180mph to run the miles up. i havent heard of anything to take miles off or "reset". is this something new?

 

Does anyone else know anything more about this program links etc?????
