The Strip & Rebuild begins
Well, we have stripped the F3 down to it's bare bones without too many problems. I have only had 2 bolts break & both are exhaust studs, so keeping my fingers crossed that both will come out either with easing oil, or a bit of heat.
Anyway, I will start a thread here of my progress. I now have an idea for it, so have started ordering parts up for her. I have a friend that restores VW's for a living, he is going to paint the frame black for me & I think that the bodywork will also be black, then gold wheels. I will keep you updated with how she goes
Day 1.

EBC Prolite Discs. Just hoping that they clean up ok.

Stainless downpipes, another result

Start of the strip down.

Engine out. Thanks to the help of my son, it was a wee bit heavy for 1 to move

Getting ready to remove the swingarm

Done

Here is the vision. I know that the Photoshop is garbage, but it was just to give me an idea on how she will look. Obviously she will have a race can & I'm looking at high level.

Part 2.
I've started to pull parts together from Ebay & have started to dry fit.
Harris Clip ons from a racing friend of mine.

Aprilia 125Rs Fairing.

No problems with clearance.

Broken Fender

Now Modified. Just need to tidy my filing up, but should do the job

I was amazed at how good they were when cleaned up. The carrier just needed a light wire brushing & used penetrating oil to clean the rest.
Headlamp arrived today, don't like the way it's set back in the fairing, will be looking at modifying it, so that they are flush with the fairing front.

Also lowered the fairing by about an inch. My son said it looked like an off roader.

Clocks also arrived from Ireland, brilliant service from Bikebreakers.ie, I would recommend them to anybody, so helpful.

All I'm really waiting for now is the Gixxer1000 rear seat unit. I rang the guy yesterday, he reckons it's in the post & should receive it today. He was very cagey, so I'll wait & see.

Ok, only a small update as I've had to replace the swingarm on my Triumph Daytona today.
I have refitted the headlights so that they are fairly flush. I think that the fairing is pattern & not OE, but it looks ok.

Also trimmed the base to make it look more "factory"

That can't be good.. you have a 675 ? Nice! Not trying to hijack the thread...
