hey guys i was riding yesterday and just thinking about how great my bike is running finally, and then when i got off the highway and got into the suburbs i noticed that my bike makes kind of like a putting (put put put put) as oppsed to the usual exaust sound from 2-4.5k rpms. the sound gets louder as the rpms increase so it sounds the worst at 4.5k.

it sounds normal from 5k up. and it doesnt seem to have any lack of throttle response and it doesnt try to die either whether i am riding or just in neutral. my idle seems to be a tad inconsistent tho. also when i have the bike in nuetral and rev it up to like 8 or 9k when the rpms are coming down the exhaust sometimes kind of cuts out real quick like the opposite of a backfire or something.

i have cleaned my carbs like 3 times in the past 2 weeeks so i really dont suspect anything down there but hell i suppose it could be so just throw ideas at me guys

okay so i started my bike up to get a video/ audio sample of the sound it was making and of coarse the sound has gone away... im not really sure what is going on but now there is a really prevalant clicking noise from the right side of the bike im npot sure if it could be my valves or not

 

There is the dreaded cam chain noise, but that's more of a rattle than 'put' 'put'.
Just a thought though, is it more of Phut noise, which could be exhaust gas coming from maybe one of the headers (pressure build up & escapes past the gasket).

 

i think ill replace the cct and see how that goes
