Default Still won't start

I know there are tons of forums about bikes not starting but I can't seem to find my answer, so here is my story...

Bought the bike knowing that it needed the fuel pump replaced, so I replaced the pump and she still wouldn't start. From there, i started troubleshooting...

Replaced the whole wire harness because the past owner spliced and cut so many wires I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing a connection somewhere. Checked to make sure I had spark and I do. I have new plugs coming just for the heck of it. Checked to make sure fuel is getting to the carbs (which I just cleaned), and it is. She turns over nice but won't seem to start up... My buddy tried to push start and it helped but she still wouldn't stay running...

I'm frustrated and I'm not sure what else to do other than take it to the shop...

well my 95 seems to have the same problem your has last summer. i completely tore it down this winter and am working on getting her back together. I just noticed today that all my intake valves were tight. I know tight valves will keep a bike from starting as well. Im also replacing both coils and all 4 wires. Thats what im doing to mine. I should have her totally back together in 2-4 weeks. hope that helps.

When you cleaned the carbs, how did the idle jet look ? The idle jet is the one that does not have a slot in it for a screwdriver. Also check to see that the idle screw is not turned out too far. If idle is set too low, it won't start either.

Idle jet was fine on them. Previous owner said the carbs were cleaned recently but since I didn't know him all I had was his word on that. So I tore them apart and they were actually very clean, no clogs or gunk at all really. i'll have to look into the idle screw tonight. Is there a common number of turns or is it something I just have to ballpark.

All four wires were replaced recently, I'll look at the coils. Really hoping I don't have to dig quite that deep for this one...

you sure you have the wires going to the plugs in the correct order? the previous owner of mine said the same thing yours did about the carbs being cleaned etc, but it wouldnt start. i got it home and did some trouble shooting and he had the plug wires in the incorrect order.

Well the new plugs came in today, so I figured I'd give em a shot and install them to see what happened. Got them in and sprayed some starter fluid in the carbs since I had the air box off. She turned over nice and sounded like she wanted to start pretty bad. So I grabbed a funnel and stuck it in the gas line, filled her with gas and gave it a crank. WALAAAA! She purred like no other. Got her back together and took it around the block to reward myself! Thanks to all who gave input!
