Default sprocket kit for an F3

Ok i got a quick question. i have a 96 F3 and i am in need of a new chain and at least a rear sprocket, i found what looks to be a good set at link below.

http://www.sportbikesolutions.com/pr...rocket_kit.htm

now they also make a 91-96 kit and this is were my question starts. i got my bike as a wreck and have just about got it 95% back to perfect minus some fairings and what not. but as i got it from an auction i am unaware as to what upgrades and misc parts were put on it. now threw research i have found the 97-98 bike to be almost identical mechanically to the 96's. is there any way to tell the difference between a 96 rear wheel and a 97-98? and if there is no difference would a 97-98 kit work on a 96?

Default

i know that in 97 they switched the chain and sprockets to 525 as opposed to the 530 of the previous years. as long as you get the whole kit (front and rear sprockets and chain) in the same size (520, 525 or 530) you will be fine. and the bolt pattern for the rear sprocket 95 through 98 f3's are identical.

Yes it will work. The differences in the 95-96 models to the 97-98 models are elsewhere.
