To start, I DID search, but found no answer to my question.
Now that that is established, I wanted to know if I bought stock 98 fairings for my 96, would the center fairing piece be the same? I realize that I would have to get an undertail and a tail light.

the center tail fairing of a 96 would not work with 97-98 only 95-96 also you would need to change your light bracket if your goin to upgrade your tail thats light bracket and taillight also .
