RE: Somehow I power wheelied today. :D
Sorry to threadjack but I can't sit here and watch people basically encourage power wheelies.
At least do some homework before you go out with a 500lb. bike and go powa wheeling on the streets...
When you clutch it up, you're taking the bike to the power... when you power wheelie you're letting the power take the bike... and considering you're having issues in the first place I would say you don't need to be in less control, but rather, more control. Which means a clutch...
flame on.

power wheelies are the first step. accidental then actually meaning to. Then if you decide you wanna conquer the wheelie. you take it a step further. but in doing so you MUST clutch wheelie to pop it up at the exact time you want it to go up. (power wheelies the front end sometimes just wont go up, you all know what im talkin about) after you get used to the feeling of popping up the front quickly, you just have to find your balance point on the bike and ride that **** all day long!!
aand properly slipping the clutch doesnt kill it. or even harm it much at that. sure it puts some extra wear and tear on it + the chain, but not much of a change in clutch life in the longrun. *again thats if done properly* ---IN ORDER TO PROGESS ONE MUST TAKE RISKS--- theres no in-between. just pop it up and cover that rear brake. ^_^

Dude when i started learning that stuff,a few guy's who have been on superbikes(atl edition) were my role models. so i did what they did, use the clutch. At first it will scare the **** out of you, but that's because your not used to it. practice hopping the front wheel with the cluch and gradually work it up higher...as soon as you feel comfortable you'll wreck, dont get cocky[&:]. that power stuff is for the birds

there shouldnt be any flaming kid cause it's the truth. i would rather the back tire catch up with the front at 15 mph than at 45+. can you imagine tapping the back break to bring the front down at 80 mph...... can we say loop or high speed wobble. pick your poison. i'll stick with clutching and replace the clutch. not that i am a stunta cause i'm not. but the times that i do pull it up it will most def be clutched
