If you do the blackstone-labs and the report comes back reporting that a much heavier weight was used than the factory says to use, you might be able to take the seller to small claims court on the basis that the seller failed to disclose a known issue(s). I would look into the laws regarding the sale of used vehicles when the seller fails to disclose any known issues when asked. But if you failed to ask if there were any known issues with the bike, I don't know how far you would get in a small claims court. If you did go to small claims and won, the judgmentcould be something along the lines ofthe seller would foot the repair bill or something like that. I don't know the laws in SC, but my guess is that there is something on the books for this.
About repairingthe bike, you can split the case (remove the bottom half) and just replace the crank bearings and not have to do everything. Like some of the other guys are saying, you can most likely get the bearings from a bearing supplier (other than Honda) and save a ton of cash. There are also gasket kits available on eBay, but I can't vouch for the quality of them. If you want to put in the least amount of effort, just do an engine swap with another F3 engine.
