Yup, i'll probably pull out the plugs much sooner and check them out. Once I confirm that the mixture is ideal, I think I will go ahead and purchase the Iridium IX's for peak burn efficiency and long life.
I'm assuming that there's no way to judge the mixture of the combustion based on the insulator color on platinums and iridiums as you can with standard ceramics?

Unless I'm mistaken, the insulator is made from the same material as a standard plug. The electrode is different. Eitherway, I think the same principal applies as you are reading the color of the deposits on the plug.
