Default Rear Brake Pad Pin

I’m attempting to replace the rear pads, but I cannot get the pin that hold the pads off. I’ve done brakes on my car numerous times & it seems to be the same process except for that pin. From what from I can see from looking at it and the downloaded service manual it screws out but it does NOT want to move for me.
Is the Pad Plug a metal cap that screws out first? If so that appears to be my first problem, & if so what are the chances that the pin it self will have the same problem in removing it?
Anyone have any tips, tricks, advice or am I doing something completely wrong.

Thanks

what ended up working for me was holding a torch up to the cap for ~30sec and then it came right off. best of luck
