I've started installing the R1 tail today as FINALLY have all the parts threw except the rear saddle and equipment to make the linkpipe.

I need some new exhaust hangers as well as these ones are to big for the cans, if it stops raining today i'll try and finish it and get the side fairings back on and get a photo to upload tonight.

You should keep an eye out for some stock r1 cans. Those things would look gnarly tucked up under there.

Lookin great dude.

I hear ya, cash tends to be the limiting factor in these projects.

Admittedly, I'm also pretty biased here... I'm really not a fan of the shorty pipes... I think they look kind of silly and I don't like the ricey sound. (that's not a putdown, I just can't think of how else to put it into words! haha) I love how the stock cans flow with the tail, and I'm taking a lot of this feeling from what Valkyie did to his F3 with the r1 tail. It also sounds like an absolute animal... maybe a little loud for my taste. haha

Also, that is pretty original having the dual shorties under the tail like that. Don't recall ever seeing that, so it's def original.

Hope you're making plans for some serious re-jetting.

BTW, what was the verdict on the f4 swinger?

Was it pretty much a straight bolt-up?

Re-Jetting is a deffinate ... for now, but im going to look into options for using bigger flatside carbs after as i plan on boring the bike to a 699cc in a few months.

The F4 swinger looks like a direct fit but i cant get the fooking security bolt off the f4 at the moment im trying to hunt down someone with the tool so i dont have to buy one but the only guy thats got the kind of tool i need is a ferrari mechanic so it wont fit a honda bolt

Keep us posted on the swingarm progress and take lots and LOTS of pics. I'm quite intrigued.

Oh and if you kept a tally of the parts you had to get to make the swap happen... yea, that would be pretty nice.

I'm just looking at ebay and seeing some real deals on a lot of the parts one might need to make this swap.

Rim with cush drive, sprocket
Wheel spacers
Rear caliper/MC assembly
Rear Rotor
Rear Shock Assembly (potentially optional??)
Axle, nut, washers
Rear swinger with chain tensioners
New Bearings

A couple of things I'm wondering in this process:

Is the bolt/spacer/washer for attaching the swinger to the frame reusable from the F3 equipment?

Does the F3 brake line bolt up to the f4i caliper?

I will start a few guides on the things i've done incuding the swingarm and fairing swaps once i got most the work finalised.

The only bits i aint got at the moment is a wavy break disk and new bearings.
