Default NEW F3 OWNER

just bought a 97 F3 mechanical its sound but needs alot of plastic work. I am gonna take it to a dealer and see how much they will charge me to fix the stuff on the bike. but on the chance they cant anyone know a better deal then what I can get at this site.

I am not worried about drilling and mounting or getting it painted (got that covered) but wondering if I can get a better deal then like $630.00

also looking for some different rims then the stock ones any links?

do you want track body work or is it for the street? either way your best bet is to just keep searching the forums and buy it used off of someone. that is a lot of money to spend on plastics

Hi,
Dealer parts / plastics cost ALOT . I've priced them for a 96F3 at a Honda dealer ...,,, WOW ,, $$$ .
Example -- Left side cowl,,, part NO. ,, 64255-MAL-890ZB --- $ 617.51 .. Right side cowl,, same
price. Left upper --- $ 456.71. Right ,,,, again ,,,, same price . Center cowl --- $ 139.61 .
Front Fender --- $ 142.79 . Rear Right tail --- $ 189.40 .
Just wanted to get an idea of prices so when I went Ebay'n ,, I'd have an idea.
SO ,,,, I went the EBAY way .
Justmade sure they had ALL the mounting tabs.
Anyholes or deep scratches I filled in with 2 part apoxy.
Sand ,, Sand ,, Wet sand ,, Primer,,Paint.
Notperfect ,,, but ,,, savedalot of $$$$ ,,,,, and hadfun doing it .
Good luck .
p.s. -- If you go to a dealer ,,, let me know the kind of prices you get .
The ONLY part I did purchase from dealer was a center stand and pipe
for $ 115.00 ,,,, Instead of buying front and rear stands .
Easy to put on bike ,,, and great for cleaning rear / front wheels , chain , and doing
maintainence.
Be safe F3'n ,,, 96F3

Reading the NOTICE at the bottom of the "Smokin' Joe's" kit ,,,
It says ,,, We sell an unfinished unpainted product , it is your
responsibility to sand, finish, and paint the parts you buy from us.
????????

what that means is you have to match and drill the holes and either use the screws you currently have or purchase new ones. Then you have to prep and paint the kit (any color you like)

but you get all the plastic for the bike except the tank which from what I have found isnt a bad price but wondering if anyone knew of a cheaper kit.
