New 2 F3 and Have problem
Hello all nice forum. I did a search and couldn't find what I was looking for. I bought a 95 F3 in pieces, Bought a 97 motor to put in. I put it in and took it for a ride, everything was good ran fine. Now the only thing I have done since then is put the plastic on and ran it in the garage just idiling. My problem is that you can start down the road just fine but then it starts cutting in and out like it is running out of fuel? If you stop and start over same thing, It will rev to red line if you wanted all day long. Starts fine also. I have cleaned the carbs throughly, tried to bypass fuel pump & changed plugs. I'm stumped and think it may be something electrical?
could be your breather on the tank which would be causing fuel starvation... or it could be your fuel mixture screws that are on the bottom of the carb bowls. maybe you need to open them up a bit.
is your speedo working? mine was doing good then i washed it and got water into the plug for it when the speedo stoped working the bike would mess up when ever you got going faster then about twenty.
good luck with the diagnosis

Do you have the little air intakes just under the head light connected? If they are not connected, you will have issues like this. If they are connected, make sure they are connected correctly. The other thing is, what is the MPH that the bike starts to cut out at? Just as 89cane was saying, if you didn't connect the speedo or if it isn't working correctly it will affect the performance of the bike. There is an air vent solenoid on the back side of the air box which switches over to a higher pressure air.
Marc you are a friggin genius!!!! I knew it was something stupid
Guess my carbs needed cleaned anyhow lol. I still don't know where they bolt I just zip tied them to the plastic so that they have no obstruction to air. Thanks a million
