My Solution For Spool Mounting
Unsure if anybody has done this yet but I have not seen it. Basically what I did was weld some 1/8 inch steel to some thicker spacers. I then used 1/4 inch bars and drilled and tapped the not welded bar and the spacers. Then I used an 8mm bolt on the top and the 8mm bolt included with the spools to basically make a clamp for the swing arm. I will take some pictures once I have them mounted. *Important note* Make sure you know what material your swingarm is. Mine is aluminum and when aluminum and steel meet they corrode so you have to use some electrical tape to keep the two from touching.
The swing arm is 2 3/4 inches tall and 1 1/4 inch wide. Their isnt much room between there and the sprocket so go thinner on the inside than the outside.

Well these brackets were free for me. I just used some scrap metal at my work and we have an on site weld shop. I considered the tabs but removing the swingarm and all that was the only way to get them welded on so it was too much of a hassle, and I had never heard of the inserts before...I may look into that. Besides weight doesn't concern me since I can take the whole thing off whenever I please
. Pics on the bike will be added in a few hours.
