Default My attempt at a DIY fender delete

Here is my attempt at a F3 fender delete and tucking of the turn signals. I took different ideas that I found on here and made my own version. For $free.99 I might add. I used all existing stuff on my bike.

Let me know your feedback!

First I got rid of the spacer on the stock turn signals. It took some head scratching to figure out how to get it loose, but I found that sneaky screw tucked in there. I wanted to use the stock lights because 1. they are more visible than other options and 2. they are free! My friend has a integrated tail on his F2 and I think it is terrible for visibility. Its hard to tell what his brake or turn signals are in the day light and at night, not that impressed. I thought about the LED route, but again these lights are free.
I think you can tell what is before and after.

Next I took off the plate light housing and mounted it just under the brake light. I took off the red reflector and expanded the hole that was there. I used that as a starting point. The stubby bolts were not long enough to go through the plastic and have a nut on the other side. I made the holes smaller than the studs and forced it in there and used super glue for a little extra grip. I figure I can chip away the glue if I need to replace the bulb.

After that it was a matter of buttoning up everything and making sure it works. (It did!) I did that before I hacked off the shovel of a fender. I just used a dremel and made my cut and left enough room for the plate to mount. I also needed to shave a 1/4 of an inch off the bottom of the brake light to help the plate light fit flush. Everything is still functional.

Stock look, but much cleaner. And cost me nothing besides time.

I did mine the same, I'm a big fan of the stock indicators also after being hit from behind by a cab doing 60 kays while i was waiting to turn.
