I recently bought a slip on yoshimura cf pipe for my f3 and i am very happy with the results. It sounds great.. seems to have gained a little power up top and looks good too. That is currently the only mod. on my bike.. i was thinking of getting a k&n filter as well. Did u guys notice any change for those who are currently using a k&n? Is it worth the money? I would like to have better throttle response.. maybe a jet kit? what are ur opinions?

A K&N is just a filter the only real advantage they have is they are reusable, chk out this thread

thanks for the help..the filter that is currently in the bike a pretty new. i think i will just stick with that filter until it gets old and dirty. as far as getting a jet kit for better response.. what kits do u guys recommend and how hard is it to install and tune them?

Factory pro jet kit is more expensive, but you don't have to drill the carbs like the other jet kits, so you can go back to stock if you want. I don't think you need a jet kit unless you got a full system exhaust or an aftermarket air filter. I had just a slip-on and my bike ran just fine. I only rejetted it after installing the K&N, and there was a very noticable improvement in power. A lot more mid-upper power. Oh, and at one time i did run just the slip-on and k&n without a jet kit and didn't like, did less than 1000 miles before I went back to stock, without the jet kit the bike was overly peaky and lagged in the low end.
The other advantage to a k&n is a little bit more air flow, but that's at the cost of not filtering out particles as good as the oem.

A buddy of mine was telling me about a throttle cable lubricant over the weekend. He said it wasn't graphite, but I can't remember what it was.
He said he ran it through his, and while it obviously didn't produce any sort of power gain, it was an amazing difference in throttle response and feel.
I gotta get a hold of him and find out what it was. If it's not too expensive, I'll pick some up this weekend. Dammit, I gotta wear friggin' horse blinders when I go to the shop or I spend all my jack...
