Ive got a problem...
Hello everyone... the weather here turned just awsome lately so after getting my bike up and running, we, my bro and i, tried to get his going. It had been sitting for about a year, most of the time in our garage, but ~ 5 months stationary in texas. changed the oil, and all the normal stuff that is usually done to dewinterize. but it wont start. after spraying starter fluid in it starts for a couple seconds but then shuts off, and backfires. any help?
You'll probably need to clean the carbs if you haven't already. Gas goes bad after a few months and tends to plug the jets up in the carbs. Make sure you drain the tank too. Rust can build up and then break free and clog everything up. My first bike was an old '86 Interceptor that had been sitting for about 6 months. I cleaned the carbs and put a new battery in, and after a few minutes of starting fluid, finally got it running. Good luck, man.
Got er!I had to clean the carbs out, there was a bit of texas desert dust everywhere in there. now i got a question- what is the street fighter look? or am i misinformed as to what a streetfighter actually is? thanks from a noob (but not a squid )
well i had a hard time finding F3s that have been turned into streetfighter, but this will give you the idea, it is a F3 that is missing the front upper and lower fairings like these http://img.2dehands.nl/f/normal/1427...el-extra-s.jpg
