Default HID conversion

I was talking with my capitol police today about my bike and jeep and how I want to HID. They told me it is illegal and to stay away. Is it the same in any of your guys' states? I am in Nevada where fricking prostitution is legal. WTF!

Technically anything that is modified on your bike and not installed by a dealer is illegal. atleast thats how it is in florida. many of the HID kits you find will state for off road use only. To be safe get the 35watt kit. they are brighter than stock bulbs but wont be blinding to other drivers. Also they come in slim ballast which are nice because they are small and mount easy.

I have 55w 4300k bulbs in my bike and i have yet to get pulled over. i work overnights and do alot of night driving and they dont even mess with me.

If you get pulled over just tell them your afraid of the dark and thats why the lights are bright

i cant believe police have nothing better to do, like solve murders, pull over those aggressive drivers, or bust drug dealers. but instead, they'll harass you over some headlights.

i personally have never heard of anyone here in NC getting ticketed for HID's. Hell, cops dont even bother with a motorcycle here (i guess they think they cant catch one if it takes off?). I've done stupid sh*t in front of them (not knowing they were there) and they just look at me and keep on rollin.
