Default No power transfer to wheel

Okay, so I am new to the game and recently purchased a 1998 Honda CBR F3. Today I was just riding about pissing away time when my bike just lost power. I was in third at the time I believe and it was like coasting down the road in neutral.... As I was coming to a stop going about 10mph I noticed, just the slightest bit of smoke surfacing from in between gas tank and handle bars. I pulled off into this drive way where I shut the bike off and took my helmet off and began to say a few choice words. I checked out the chain which was there and I looked under the bike for any sort of leaks I could see... Nothing.. I think to myself maybe it was just randomness... I started the bike back up.. It idled just fine so I hopped on hoping that whatever it was had passed. I put the bike in first let off the clutch and nothing.. Gave it some gas and the revs jump fine, but there was just absolutely no power being transferred to the rear wheel! Any advice or things to check for or questions would be awesome.. Thanks.

I had no issue dropping it in first and then back into neutral.. Sooo, it seems to go in between gears without any issues.

Doesn't sound good if the chain is still there. Don't run it anymore till you know what's going on.

Well for a start, verify the front sprocket. There's a small chance the chain came off the sprocket and only looks like Its on. If its on there I'd try lifting the rear tire, putting the bike in first and trying to manually spin the rear tire. In gear its shouldn't spin. If it does I'd think clutch or tranny. If it doesn't I'd open the headers and verify the can chain is still in place. If so I'd try manually cranking the engine and verifying that its actually moving.

Dunno where I'd go from there.

Sounds like your clutch bud. Get yourself a manual and go to town troubleshooting.

Thinking the clutch isn't disengaging?
