Handlebars/Brake&Clutch Levers
Do I have to replace the entire box? Or just the little window?
Also, Handgrips, how hard are they to replace? Like these for instance

like 20 bucks on ebay.
Might drain the fluid and see if you can't wipe some gunk off of the inside first?
Not sure, but maybe #9 is the see-thru piece?? Dunno what they call a "protector" http://www.cyclepartswarehouse.com/f...ion_detail.asp
But wait, I can see the fluid level in the pic?..

Most of this stuff is pretty easy. It is great to see you trying hard to bring her back and and make her look good again. Best yet, you are willing to do the work yourself. I have a 97 F3 that is the same paint scheme and not in much better shape. Serves as a track bike and then I throw the street skins on it for commuting. Hate putting all the highway miles on my 1000RR. Anyway, try something before you paint the plastic pieces.
If you have access to a heat gun, take the plastic pieces off and just put the gun on high and hold it close the plastic...an inch or so away but do NOT touch it...the heat will burn off the oxydation and crap and you will be surprised at the result. I have done this on many parts like that to bring them back, including the black molding on my old Jeep Cherokee. Made them look like new and stock. No painting or sanding or anything.
You are in the right place for advise. Anytime I need anything this is the first place I come to...then back and forth from here to ebay for the parts I need. Let me know if I can ever help. Hope you get her the way you want.

Oh...one more thing. If you don't have one yet, download the service manual. If you need one, let me know, I will see what I can do. There are some links right here in the forum, so either way. I will help if I can. But if you are going to be doing this sort of stuff, you should really have the service manual.
the usb mod works for all bikes and is a 5v usb port which can charge devices aka cell phone and gps.
