Default clutch and brake levers

alright , im new to working on my bike myself and thought that the levers for the brake and clutch were pretty straightforward ... well, after installing them my clutch just pops as soon as i put it in gear and i adjusted with the screw type thing by the clutch lever and it did nothing to help both screwed completely in and then as far out as it would go , i didnt adjust anything around the area where the clutch is located bc i wanted to check to see where i was supposed to go from here , thanks for any help
