F3 trouble!!!
Ok so here is the deal. I am new and I dont want to waste anyones time so I will get right to the point. I have a 98 F3 with 14k on it. I "stored" the bike temporally here in utah for about two months. I wasnt really thinking that I would be away for that long so I left the battery in the bike. Well the battery is dead and I can't get the battery to jump it because the seat wont pop its latch. I need to get it started as soon as possible because it is my only means of transportation (long story). What do I do????????
I made a similar post elsewhere so here's a copy and paste...
If you look at the second picture with the red arrow, the black housing to the left of it is where the battery sits. The battery will have a cover over it with I believe three screws holding it on. Remove those screws and you'll have full access to the battery.
First thing you might want to do, pull the battery out and get it tested at an automotive store and replace if need be. Otherwise get a battery tender and charge it fully before riding.
To take off both side parts of the tail section, you'll need a decent sized flat head screwdriver. The plastic screw is on the bottom front portion of it, twist the screw a quarter turn then pull the plastic piece off. For the seat, pull the two screws off, they're about in the middle-back portion of the seat. After removing the screws for the seat, you'll need to pull the seat back a little bit then pull it up.

Thanks for the help. I did get the batteries out of the bike and I took it to a auto shop. It had 3 volts in it. He wanted to sell me a 10amp charger but I was skeptical. Will a 10 amp charger work with the battery or do i have to get a special charger for the battery?
Used F3 -$2300-$4000 gas for the week -$5 Tires front and rear-$300 Nice paint job-$800 The muscles in you leg hurting because of walking your bike to the nearest autozone to buy a new battery cus you neglected to buy new because you got a battery tender instead -$pricless Dude just get a new battery and 1 year warrentee $60 bucks. come on now if the battery is dead just buy New because one day you will be out in the middle of nowhere and you will break down and you be stranded for hours. take it from me i have experiance in that field. i walked my bike for a mile one day because i was in the same situation. instead of buying new i tendered mine and 1 week leter i was walking my bike home.
I agree with the FEAVER. If its been dead that long just by a new one. The only way I would use a tender is if I just killed that battery that day or something by leaving the key in it and on for some reason.
at most $7 its only $2.79 here and i ride as much as possable When its warm i ride my bike back and forth every day but when its cold i only ride very few times but when i was riding it back and forth it only cost me $7 a week if i got on it all the time
