Default f3 started last week, now it wont.

so i rebuilt my engine....twice. first time it wouldnt start. so i did it again because the rings were completely stuck on all pistons. they were new rings so i used the ones that werent bent and bought new ones if i had to. re-used the new head gasket figuring since it never started the head gasket could be re-used.

Upon putting the engien in and running all the electric it started just fine. a lot of white smoke but it didnt smell like it was antifreeze or anything. went for a ride and all seemed well. white smoke was gone. but it had trouble starting up right after running, but if i worked the throttle it would start and run great.
A week later and now the thing wont start. 140 pounds of compression, if I spray ether straight in the carbs it will start but backfire a lot and it will fire out of the carbs as well. Seems like the timings is off right? is that possible for the timing to change becasue of the bike running or cranking over? any other suggestions please. sorry for the wordyness as well.

How is your oil pressure ? Did you have the gauge cluster all hooked up when you took it for a ride ? Did the oil light illuminate when you turned on the key and then go out when you started it ?
