OK, I know that the F3 uses an electric speedometer sensor (right?), and the F2 uses a speedometer cable. I am trying to hook up an after market speedo to my project F3. My question is... Will the speedo cable on the F2 work on my F3. I am trying to figure out a way to use a mechanical speedo on my F3. Please help!

 

The speedo cable on a F2 goes to the front wheel, the F3 uses an electronic pickup located on the countershaft sprocket cover.
So NO.... a F2 cable will not work on F3 guage cluster, since the F3 cluster has no place for the cable to mount

 

the front wheels are different also, the F3 front wheel has no speedo drive gear, the F2 does and it also acts as a wheel spacer

 

Thanks for your help. Would an aftermarket electronic speedo work on the F3? I'm thinking about using an electronic Autometer speedo.
