Thanks a ton for all this help, guys. Yeh, my bike has definately been backfiring alot more since this issue has popped up. I'll be off all day tomorrow, so it's looking like I've got a project. I pulled my whole airbox apart and noticed there was a small bit of fuel in the box. and my filter smelled like fuel. what could this be?

Not unusual to find a little bit of wetness or a sheen in spots inside the airbox. That's normal. I believe the crankcase vents to the airbox. It's probably a bit of oil residue. I've heard that if you were to overfill the engine with oil or have a little too much in the engine, you will see a lot more of that residue in the airbox.

If i remember correctly...F2/F3 carbs are different....F3 carbs are set up for ram air...don't think the F2 carbs would like that very much as we have horrible problems with just adding a K&N filter on F2's and getting too much air for the carbs
