Default exhaust cans

hi,

does anyone know if the standard exhaust can from a 2000 cbr 600 would fit onto a 1996 cbr 600 , i think between 1992 and 1998 they were the same , but i don't know about the later ones , they look very similar , just wondered if anyone had tried it

thanks

craig

The F4 had a bit more power and it was lighter. That could play into the exhaust make-up.

It would work, but I'm wondering if it would bog it down, not enoughoxygen... ?

thanks for the reply , i kinda just wanted to know if it would physically fit , it's my wifes bike , the baffles have started to break up inside the standard black can and it sounds like a bag of nails at idle , she wants to keep the bike standard but doesn't like the look of the black can , there seems to be far more exhausts for the 1998 - 2001 models and thought that someone may have tried to fit them to an earlier model , don't have a breakers anywhere near me or know anyone with a later cbr 600 so can't really try it myself

thanks

I'm not sure about the stock exhaust, but I bought a 2 bro's exhaust for an f4 off ebay and it fit on my f3. The mid pipe is a little different but I was still able to make it fit with a little finessing. Not sure if that helps you out at all but just thought I'd mention it.
