I am rebuilding an F3 I got from a buddy and I need a new engine. What years will fit into the 97 F3 frame? I plan to use the carb manifold etc from the old engine. Just need to know what to look for when shopping for my new engine.

 

91-94 f2 and 95-98 f3 will both bolt up directly and will handle the same, everything mechanically is the exact same except the f2 speedo is cable driven, f3 electrical. 93 f2 and 96 f3 engines ive heard have a "longer" life time. but that jsut what ive heard.

also rr engiens will fit but they are slightly taller and can offset the balance. you can make alot fit with cash too.
