Carburator removal
Hi everyone,
due to circumstances my CBR600F3 hasn't been driven for several years and was in the garage. This summer I did have time and start to bring her back to the road again.
The exhaust pipes (were rusted through) replaced, engine coolant, motor oil etc. have been refreshed and the carbs been cleaned.
After assambling everything and started up the engine the right exhaust pipe is still cold.
I have to remove the carburator again to inspect the pilot jet.
The question is, should I drain the coolant again (completely or partly) and do this again with the hose at the waterpump? Can I reuse this coolant again?
I'm not very experienced in this matter so I thought I ask this here on the forum.

Hey there and welcome.
To answer your question, no you don’t need to drain the coolant. If you are referring to the coolant lines that run through the carbs, simply clamp them off so you don’t get leakage.
Before you pull the carbs, are you certain you have spark at the cylinder in question? You could very well have a bad plug or loose plug wire.

Hi hamlin6,
thank you for your reply. That are indeed the lines i'm refering to, but wasn't able to clamp them off.
I drained the whole coolant system again.
The sparks were OK. Pilot jet (3+4) was clogged again. Perhaps there was still some debris in the fuel hoses.
