lost a coolant line.... need help!
hey guys, i was riding on the highway yesterday and looked down and my temp light is on and temp is flashing at 270! so i pull over and look down and antifreeze is all over my shifter, left fairings, shoe leg, etc. got it trailered home and pulled off the fairings and right next to the engine case, shifter side the coolant hoses are seperated. put it back on and tightened the strap and a couple otheres that were a little loose. but im scared that i might have done some damage to the engine. should i just fill her back up with coolant and start it up or flush the system first or do i need to get the motor ripped apart and checked out? any help is appreciated. thanks in advance fellas.

you stopped, thats a good thing
it really depends on how long the engine was overheating before you noticed
i would fix the hose, refill it and crank, if it mixes the water with the oil, leaks water, doesnt run, overheats again, exhaust smells like coolant, or it cooked a gasket and burns or leaks oil, then rebuild the motor
