Default carb question

Hello, just looking for some general info, is there a difference between carbs used on the 95-96 and the 97-98 models. I was looking at the blown up schematics and the 95-96 uses two different length velocity stacks on the outside and inside carbs. And on the 97-98 they use one size, I imagine there is a reason. I ask because I'm running 98 carbs on a 96 and wonder if that might be causing my small running issues. Any answers would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

It's not much help, but I do know the 97-98 had a different carb part # than 95-96.
I just looked up the parts fiche last night before listing my 97 carb on ebay.

Other than that, I know nothing!

Well I do appreciate the reply. Different part numbers would suggest different parts, now to just figure out if they are interchangable, I do not see why they wouldn't be though.

I know that on the F2's all 4 carbs had the same jet sizes.
Starting with the F3, the outer carbs had smaller jets than the inner carbs.
This was to help with the temps on the inner cylinders if I read correctly.
They must of figured something out to improve upon it further in '97.
