carb problem/hesitation at start
so i bought my f3 last year... it has always had the hesitation problem where if i just rev the engine in neutral and open it up all the way, it dies... once i get speed, the problem goes away and it runs like a champ.. i put in a stock air filter but didnt help.. carbs are clean.. pilot jet screws are fine... 1.5 turns from tight.. and are clean.. when i cover the air intake, it runs good...( i guess that would happen when u choke out the air).. im kinda lost now and thinkin bout taking it in but i dont wanna pay 500 to get it done.. ne suggestions? main jet?
98 f3.. 11,000 miles

when i disconnected the carb lines to get to em, they were not touched at all.. the factory setting for the pilot screws are/were 1.5 out.. so all of them were at stock. it ran like this with the stock exhaust and w/ my jardine.. the bike does smell like its burning lean according to my step dad but my bro doesnt think thats a problem... so u think i should screw the pilot screws out to 2.5? i think that i need a special screwdriver for that too?

Even if you were the first to take it apart double and triple check the hoses to make sure everything is in the right place.
I just finished jetting my bike and i had a horrible time getting it to run and idle right, so i took it to the dealer and had them tune it up and the tech said that what was wrong was a couple of slightly pinched hoses and one hose was partially rotted. So always check the lines and make sure everything is alright cause the smallest thing can cause it not to run right.

i'll check it out. Its been pissing me off and i might just take it in if i cant figure it out. the bike only had 6500 miles on it when i bought it last year.. it had some periods of sitting for years. maybe the vacuum lines are rotting on the inside from sitting or the pilot screws need to be screwed out to 2.5 turns
