I'm thinking about joining those two coolant hoses and bypassing the carb. Was wondering if anyone has run this way and how cold did it get before you noticed cold starting issues, if at all?

I've got a leak because the hoses are old and soft and if I don't have the length to chop some off I'm just gonna take the carbs out of the picture. Not to mention one less pain-in-the-*** connection to make.

The coldest I ever ride in is about 40F and I can't imagine it affecting runability other than starting. I suppose if it were cold enough then maybe it would help. Most bikes I run into don't do this, so it must not be a huge deal.

Anyhoo, thought I would bring it up for discussion as I searched and didn't see it being brought up.

I shouldn't think it'll have any effect on cold starting as the water will be the same temp as ambient anyway. I thought they were there to prevent carb icing when riding in low temperature with ethanol content fuels?

I've been held up on this bike and haven't been able to get back to the engine. Not to mention my Ron Ayers parts didn't arrive like they said it did.
