Default cam chain

hi all just got my bike 2 months ago and ive got a rattle in the engine when its cold and i believe its the cam chain tensioner.
will it need to be replaced or can i repair it ?or is there a manual tensioner that i can use?
i D/Led the manual.
I presume that a new gasket is needed?
is it a simple job or will i need to pay?

GREAT forum btw.

Well it depends if you want to replace the chain slider as well I was recomended to do so but when I did I felt that it wasn't needed at all. Alls you have to do is unbolt the two bolts, remove tensioner..clean where the old gasket was making sure nothing gets in the hole and then put new gasket on the bolt the new tensioner up...I dont think you can repair them but I bought mine from the local bike shop and I think it was somwhere around $45 not much at all overall very easy job.

Make sure you get a manual one. Or just ride the bike and don't worry about it. It will not hurt anything.
