Default brake pads

I was going to order someSinteredDouble H ebc brake pads from bike bandit for the front brakes, They are for 30.00$ or so and does that mean only two brake pads so i would have to make two orders or what? I need to replace all four pads for the front? Also i need to replace the rotors can you cut them or just replace with new ones?

Replace the rotors, and you'll need two sets up front, one in back. 2 different part numbers.

Are you certain you need rotors? Not saying you don't as it's not uncommon - just making sure!

i really not sure but when i use the front brakes the first intitial time when stopping it makes a clanking noise but only when i hit the brakes the first time after that when i hold it to stop i dont hear it. I took it the the shop the guy took apart my calipers and totally cleaned them then checked my front bearing and checked if rotors are tight and everything was good when he was done right when i left it still did it. i went back and talked to him and he said the only think it could be is that if i have been really hard on the brakes the rivits that hold the two pieces of rotor together loosen and the rotor actually shifts when i grab the brakes. not sure if that understandable but hard to explain and he said to start by replacing the brakes and rotors and see what happens. The rotors have 40,000+ plus miles one them. he said honda rotors are known for it? Thanks for the help with pads

Before replacing your rotors, check them to see if they're actually worn. 95 -96 specs are 3.8 - 4.2mm thick. For 97 - 98 it's 4.4 - 4.6 mm on the front rotors. Service limit is 3.5 mm in the groove. It they're within specs then you don't need rotors.

Sorry for the story But
I hear yah they are good and to spec i checked them at work using my manuel, but like i said it makes that clanking noise when i first hit the front brakes. Only the first intial time then when i grab it,when holding themeverything is good up to when i come to a complete stop. The mechanic said that under hard braking over time, the rivots or what every they are called that hold together the two sperate peices of rotor(GOLD/SILVER)start to give or in my case have given up on holding the two peices together solidly. So when i hit the brakes theres actually some movement between thetwo peices and thats where the first intial clanking noise is coming from. ITs hard to explain , but thats what hetold me and he showed me pics of his old cbr600 f3 race bikes, he had a couple he built and raced with his buddy. He said its not unusal, it has happened to him before on thetrack. I think since i got 40,000+ on those stock rotors over time they took a beating especially how i ride it now. LIKe I STOLE IT. lolHas anyone even heard of this? I haven't, im just going from what he said hes been doing it his whole life and since he checked everything for free why would he bull**** he would only be wasting his own time. Thanks for the help guys always appreciated.

It sounds feasable.

Not sure if I'd spend the money to replace them though.

40K on rotors is nothing as long as they were taken care of.

I'm about to turn 40K on myFZ1 and those brakes have definitely been used to full potential on numerous occasions. Point is, as long as the discs aren't gouged or warped I'd say ride on!

**** if you heard that clanking noise every time you braked you wouldn't be saying that, i wont liei still ride cant help myself! i got some rotors of ebay for set 85.00. hopefully there in good shape otherwise they'll go right back on ebay, and i just bought pads today for 65.00 so it hasnt cost to much. if not fixed i will replace the calipers but i think thats not the problem. dont know what else to do after that.
