Default Switched brake pads, now its harder to brake?

I have cbr125 and after I switched the rear brakepads i had to push harder on the step to brake. is there a reason why this happens? and is it possible to adjust how hard you want to press when braking?

I vote bedding. As you use the pads over the next 100 miles, and they heat-cycle a few times, the braking power will improve.
