Default Axle nut hole doesn't line up with axle hole.

I just torqued the axle nut on my 600RR and noticed that the hole in the nut doesn't match up with the hole in the axle. Any suggestions on what to do? Is the only option drilling a new hole in the axle?

Do you have any idea how close to the hole you are? Is the hold in the axle 90 degrees away, or is it close?

The hole is just for safety wire. most bikes don't even use wire,

Just wire it through the axle where it is, or tie the nut to the adjuster screw.

How do you wire it when you can't get the wire through the hole?

Is everything lined up right? Make sure the axle is seated on the other side.

Wire went through the hole at one time....

I wired mine around the adjuster.

I'm a moron. Doh.

I would drill again though, I don't think you're close enough to the original hole to have it be an issue with torquing/weakening...

Is there supposed to be a washer on the non-drive side of the axle?

I checked the book and found out that there is not supposed to be a washer on the opposite side. I ended up drilling one small hole in the axle to allow me to safety wire it.

Is this for track use or something? My 1000RR didn't come with safety wire on the axle nuts and I've never added any. Street riding only.
