when your starting the bike with the fuel line off it will start to spit gas out thats to check if its clogged. You might also want to listen to see if the fuel pump comes on and your not just using gas thats rested in the carbs

 

try the fuel pump cut off relay thats what was wrong with mine but dont know were it is on the bike just had the shop fix it part is cheap like $60.00
