My 95 cbr f3 was running good one day and the next day i started it and it was idling a little low and everytime i gave it gas it seemed like it wanted to die at low rpms, so i adjusted the idle with the **** and it didnt seem like it was doing anything and then it died.

Now everytime i start it, it only idles when the choke is on. As soon as i turn the choke off it dies. And when the choke is on, whenever i give it gas it sounds like a buell or something. I'm not sure what the problem is.

 

when was the last time the carbs were cleaned? You may have gotten someting stuck in the carbs, otherwise check spark to all of your cylinders

 

"Sounds like a Buell", do you mean it's only running on two cylinders? The first thing I woud do is pull all four plugs (keep them in order) and see if any cylinders aren't firing.

 

I'm with the other two, pull the spark plugs and see what they look like. I had a similar problem on a Slowzuki and it turned out to fouled plugs.

 

I pulled the plugs and 2 of them were wet and 2 of them werent.

 

What color are the tips? Are they black and full of carbon etc...?

 

My guess is that the plugs were fouled, and changing them will get you riding again. I'd clean the carbs just for fun, and if you have a sync it sounds like the carbs DEFINATELY need some tuning. But it's oil on the plugs, you have a bigger problem.

It started when you put new plugs in it? You'll need to fix what's causing the plugs to foul or you'll have problems with valves, etc., shortly.

 

Why not just take it to the shop, have them diagnose it, if it's not too much fix it. Make it easy on yourself. 80 bucks or so isn't so bad when they tell you what's wrong with it.

 

If you have 80-150 to spend on diagnosis, it's not. That's what I'd do if it was in my disposible income. It's usually not though, I buy too much food.

 

check for condensation or water in the gas, my old bike did that when the water drian on the edge of gas fill got clogged and water got in the gas.
