98 Wont Start after dumped
Ok so im selling my bike and had a guy test drive it today.
He dumps it in my lawn and ditches out on me, i have the cops after him now but thats besides the point.
I know these have like a fuel shutoff or something to do with tilting over.
However, when i picked the bike back up, tried to start it. It cranks and cranks but it wont get any fuel.
Is there a reset switch or something on the bike?
Lukily it was under 10 mph and only slid in the grass for 75% of the slide. Farings are scuffed up and the brake lever broke but everything else seems to be ok in that region.

There's a fuel cutoff relay on the right side tail of the bike, between the r/r & icm(small black piece of plastic in a rubber holder). But that only stops the fuel pump from running. You can try unplugging the connect and sticking a piece of wire between the blue / black & black / white wires. That will bypass the relay and cause the pump to run whenever the ignition is turned ON.
But my understanding of the relay isn't anything to do with whether the bike takes a fall or not. How long did you wait before trying to start her? I dropped mine twice within 30 mins (don't ask). But I knew not to attempt to restart her immediately. Fluids go everywhere when they tip, mixing in ways Honda never intended. Its best to get her back on her tires and wait a bit for the fluids to settle before restarting. And it might take a bit of leaning on the starter button, with a lot of choke to get it to kick over.
Mine took a bit of starting after waiting about 10 minutes to restart. Sounded like crap for another half hour. Ran worse for about 10 miles. But now she's okay
Oh and NEVER let anyone test ride your bike unless they hand you the full asking price in cash before getting on. Nothing prevented him from simply never coming back with it, splattering it against a stationary / moving object or getting splattered by one.

Waited prolly 30 mins or so, i smelt gas and some leaked out (full tank ofc...)
I wanted to make sure none of the fuel lines came loose or something stupid so i yanked the farings off fast and double checked them and threw them back on then tried to start it. Should have been enough time to let everything get back home for the most part. I only cranked on it for about 2-3 mins because i was so pissed off at the time and its been sitting in the garage all afternoon now.

Wow, that really sucks. I hope you catch him. Sounds like steeling to me. Good luck with that. Don't forget things like Caller ID for tracking him down.
Not starting is probably due to fouled plugs. Pull the plugs, and check the air cleaner too for any excessive oil.

OMG, what a moron....Hope you ll get this bustard. The bike should be fine. Just check if the fuel is coming out from fuel pump. You can disconnect the fuel hose off the pump, crank the starter and just look if the pump is actually pumping. If its fine the plugs might be flooded. Pull out the plugs as idodirt suggested and crank the bike the a about 10-20 sec. It will dry out the fuel. Then put the plugs back in.
